Ranger Assessment and Selection Program 1 (RASP 1) History Practice Exam

The concept being tested is how the Army organizes for rapid, scalable direct-action missions. The 75th Ranger Regiment is trained and structured to deploy quickly and execute high‑impact raids, airfield seizures, and other direct-action tasks against high‑value targets. Their capability centers on rapid insertion, precision strikes, and the ability to scale forces to match the objective—ranging from small assault elements to larger raid packages. This combination of speed, flexibility, and focused offensive action embodies rapid, scalable direct-action capability.

In contrast, strategic long-range reconnaissance describes deep, extended intelligence gathering rather than immediate, targeted assaults; multifunctional logistic support is about sustainment and supply rather than conducting direct attacks; heavy armor combined arms refers to heavily armored units with tanks and mechanized forces, which the Rangers do not operate.
